1 Timothy 4:1-10 - The Savior of All

1 Timothy 4:1–10 (ESV): 4 Now the Spirit expressly says that in later times some will depart from the faith by devoting themselves to deceitful spirits and teachings of demons, 2 through the insincerity of liars whose consciences are seared, 3 who forbid marriage and require abstinence from foods that God created to be received with thanksgiving by those who believe and know the truth. 4 For everything created by God is good, and nothin

1 Timothy 3:14–16 (ESV): 14 I hope to come to you soon, but I am writing these things to you so that, 15 if I delay, you may know how one ought to behave in the household of God, which is the church of the living God, a pillar and buttress of the truth. 16 Great indeed, we confess, is the mystery of godliness: He was manifested in the flesh, vindicated by the Spirit,

seen by angels, proclaimed among the nations, believed on in the world, taken up in glory.

1 Timothy 3:8-13 - True Biblical Servanthood (Deacons)

The word that we translate as deacon in English is the word diakonos in Greek. It means servant or the office of Deacon. There is a similar term in Latin for Deacon, but the word minister we get from the Lartin also would be related to the term Deacon in Greek. The term diakonos is used many times in the New Testament and has functions of bringing assistance, performing duties, or being a go-between.

There are distincti

1 Timothy 3:1-7 - Biblical Church Leadership

Ecclesiology - The study of Ecclesia? Ecclesia is the Greek Word for gathering or specifically used as “church in the New Testament.”

An example of this is Galatians 1:1-2

1 Paul, an apostle—not from men nor through man, but through Jesus Christ and God the Father, who raised him from the dead— 2 and all the brothers who are with me,

To the churches of Galatia:

1 Timothy 2:11-15 - Godly Submission and Godly Authority

1 Timothy 2:11–15 (ESV): 11 Let a woman learn quietly with all submissiveness. 12 I do not permit a woman to teach or to exercise authority over a man; rather, she is to remain quiet. 13 For Adam was formed first, then Eve; 14 and Adam was not deceived, but the woman was deceived and became a transgressor. 15 Yet she will be saved through childbearing—if they continue in faith and love and holiness, with self-control.

1 Timothy 2:8-10 - The Heart of Worship

The Apostle Paul continues on in his letter to Timothy, the church, and by extension all churches since Paul’s time to explain more specific kinds of peoples and the ways they should conduct themselves in prayer and worship.

V-8 - We see the “then” at the beginning of the verse. Some translations say “therefore” instead of then. This is referring back to verses 1-3 in this chapter. Paul is going to explain and focus in on the heart of

1 Timothy 2:1-7 - One Mediator and Ransom for All

After laying the groundwork for the big ideas of his letter, namely that Timothy needs God’s great mercy to endure the challenges in Ephesus, which include false teachers from within in the church, Paul has reminded Timothy of Timothy’s calling and the story of grace in Paul’s life. With a reminder to be humble and to keep a pure heart, good conscience, and sincere faith, and to avoid steering off the right path and making a

By rejecting this, some have made shipwreck of their faith, 20 among whom are Hymenaeus and Alexander, whom I have handed over to Satan that they may learn not to blaspheme.

1 Timothy 1:12-17 - Christ Jesus Came to the World to Save Sinners

V-12 - Paul now will contrast himself with the false teachers he wrote about in the previous verses. Paul begins with giving thanks and his thankfulness is felt throughout this whole passage. God has given Paul strength to stay faithful in the ministry He gave him. Our service to God is done by the power and strength of the Holy Spirit. Yes, we must work hard, but the work is in keeping in step with God’s S

1 Timothy - Introduction and 1:1-2 - Christ Jesus our Hope

1 Timothy is one of the Apostle Paul’s thirteen letters that he wrote in the New Testament. It is categorized as an “epistle,” which means “letter.” 1 Timothy is commonly grouped with two other epistles (2 Timothy and Titus) that are called the “Pastoral Epistles because they give a lot of direction on pastoring. There is some debate to whether Timothy and Titus were actually pastors/elders in local churches. It se
